Yesterday afternoon I wanted Allison to take a picture of me for my about page that I’m revamping, and Allison wanted me to take pictures of her for… something. Anyway, I had a lot of fun using Allison’s dSLR (anyone want to give me a dSLR?). She also took a few pictures of me after the about pictures, so I’ll have those here too.
This is several days late, but better late than never! 🙂
My summer seems kinda run together, so I’m not quite sure what all happened in July. Thankfully I have pictures to look back over to see when we did what, and so I shall write about our adventures in July.
Our county fair is coming up in a few weeks and I’m having a hard time deciding what to enter in the photography section. I actually haven’t taken that many great pictures in the last year, but I still like entering. I’m going to post a few of my top picks and see if you can help me narrow the choices down at least a little bit.
Decision #1: People Category “A posed or candid photo of a person.”
A few of these I don’t like very much, but I just wanted to make sure no one else did. 🙂
Decision #2: Pets “Your best shot of your companion animals.”
Puts Entry #5
Also, if you really liked a photo I’ve posted before that isn’t in this post, you can tell me in the comments and I’ll see if I’d like to add it.
Decision #3: Wildlife “Wildlife in a natural habitat or zoo”
You may see some photos in some categories overlap. I can’t do the same photo in different categories when I’m entering in the fair, but sometimes I can’t decide which category to enter it in, so I’ll do both in the post.
Decision #5: Rural R* “A photo that defines our county”
*The R stands for the name of our county. 😉
Decision #6: Architecture “A structure, such as a building or bridge that is the focal point”
These two are the same picture, but I couldn’t decide if I should do it in black and white or not.
Decision #7: Close-up “An object photographed at very close range, with the subject clearly defined and recognizable”
Again, if you remember you liked a photo that I took and it isn’t here, comment away! 😛
Decision #8: Pictorial “A photo that conveys a feeling or an emotion.”
Do you think this would work for pictorial?
Now all that remain are the categories where I only have one photo. I’m not sure if these would really count or not, but I might give them a shot.
Action “The focal point is a moving object.”
Yeah… the focal point is my feet and they aren’t moving objects. 😛 It’s a pretty big stretch. What do you think?
Humorous “An amusing or humorous moment caught in the image.”
Do you find this amusing or not? I won’t explain to you what’s happening, because I can’t explain to the judges.
Abstract “Contains a design of patterns or shapes where the subject matter is not evident.”
Is this pretty obvious or not?
Artistic “A photo that has been altered using digital editing software or post printing.”
I combined three images into one in this photo.
And that’s all I have in the photo category! I’m also probably going to enter some inchworms, maybe a graphic design piece, and an elephant I sewed.
what is your favorite of all of my photos?
do you think any of the last four photos would work?
The baby bunnies have grown much in size and in fluff over the past couple weeks. They’ve also gotten a lot more curious. And we’ve named them all! The black one is Mulberry (named by Carmen), the white and black one is Herbert Nininger (named by Jeff), the brown and white one is Ginger (named by Allison), and mine is Basil.
This coming Monday my family is going to Assiteugue and Chincoteague Island. I won’t be gone long, just six days, so there isn’t really a need to tell you all, but I wanted to make a post anyway. Continue reading “Off to Assateague”→
As you probably could tell from the title, we have baby bunnies now! Our rabbit Willow just had four tiny babies on Monday. It’s been over half a year since we’ve had baby bunnies, and almost a year since we’ve had some that survived, so I’m quite happy that we have more bundles of fuzz! (Although they don’t have terribly much fuzz at the moment.)
Wow. It’s already June? 2017 is already half-way done? Well, hooray for summer break! School ended for me in the beginning of May, but I’m still finishing up Math. (Ugh.) Also, it’s finally getting warmer! The temperature got past eighty degrees several times in May.
Today I will be doing a post filled with random snippets of things I’ve been doing or photographing lately. Like my tagline says, my blog is basically a bunch of random snippets made into posts, but I decided to make a random snippet of a post filled with random snippets. 🙂
A few weeks ago our parents, grandparents, and aunt and uncle went to a wedding, so our cousins and us decided to have a ‘rejection party’ and go fishing at our (great) uncle’s pond down the road. It was quite fun! Continue reading “Fishing Trip”→
