The Sunshine Blogger Award and Some Quotes

Hello everyone!

Sam tagged me for The Sunshine Blogger Award a few weeks ago and came up with such great questions that I decided to go ahead and do it, even though I practically never do tags. But I didn’t want to heap on you another boring tag post (I’m afraid my answers aren’t quite as interesting as Sam’s) so I included some quotes I made! Well, at least I designed them. I’m not the author of these quotes, hehe. But yep, that’s what this post will be. The quotes don’t usually have anything to do with the answers. They’re just there.

Alright, so we’re supposed to start with the rules.

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link back to their blog so others can find them.
  2. List the rules and display an award logo on your blog post.
  3. Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you.
  4. Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and notify them by commenting on any of their posts.
  5. Ask the nominees 11 new questions.

Lot’s of elevens. Eleven is a very nice number though! Anyway, thank you so much Sam! Y’all should check out her blog if you haven’t already.

Onto the questions! (Also heads up, if you’re reading this in the WP reader the format’s going to get a little messed up with the quotes.)

What’s something you’re good at? (Permission to boast, granted.)

come thou fount lyrics

Why thank you for the permission. XD Hmm. I’m not super talented in any particular ways I don’t think. Just pretty good at art, pretty good at photography, and stuff like that. Oh wait, I’m pretty good at remembering people’s birthdays! If someone mentions their birthday, even if it’s not someone I know well, I’ll usually store it up in my brain until I can put it on my birthday calendar so I can remember to tell them happy birthday if I ever get the chance. 🙂 But I’m quite awful at remembering people’s ages. Sigh. Anyway, moving on.

What’s the nicest thing anyone has ever said to you?

quoteblock4I’m not sure I can pinpoint an actual compliment that meant a lot to me. Usually it’s who says it or the way that they say it that makes it nice, versus the actual words. Because I could tell you that you’re the nicest person in the world, but if I said it sarcastically it wouldn’t be much of a compliment! But don’t worry, nobody has sarcastically told me that I’m the nicest person in the world as far as I can remember. 😉
But yeah, I’m not really sure what is the nicest thing someone has said to me.

What are your dreams usually like?

switchfoot lyrics
lyrics from “Native Tongue” by switchfoot

They usually relate to real places and people. But sometimes I fly and do unreal things, but usually in a way that feels real. For instance, in one of my dreams a year or two ago I dreamed I could jump and then jump again while still in the air and by doing that I could get really high up, and I knew it was a dream but was pretty sure that I could do it when I woke up. Sadly I couldn’t. Also I don’t usually remember dreams, which is sad. I’ll remember like maybe one a week. But maybe I usually have nightmares, so then it’s good I don’t remember them, hehe! Although the ones I do remember usually aren’t very frightening.

What is the hardest thing you’ve ever done?

quoteblock2.jpg Move.

You’re in a room full of people you’ve never met before. Who do you talk to? (i.e. the person hiding in a corner, the craziest person, the person with a friendly smile, etc.)

quoteblock3The person hiding in the corner. I’m more outgoing if I’m with people who I know or people who don’t know anyone else. If they’re in a group of friends and I’m the only one who doesn’t know anybody then I’m pretty quiet.

Or else I might talk to a person who seems really talkative because normally I’m not, so it’s nice to have someone to do most of the talking at first. XD So I suppose the person who seems the most talkative and is hiding in a corner! The only thing is those two don’t really go together and you can’t exactly tell that someone’s talkative if they aren’t talking.

When was a time you could really see God answering your prayers?

quoteblock5

I don’t know, because a lot of times it happens over the course of a couple months or so and then a year later I look back and think, “Oh wow. That/I definitely changed.” That happened a lot during moving.

Where do you feel safest?

quoteblock6

Gahh these questions are hard! Location-wise, maybe some little place on our farm.

What ruins a book for you?

quoteblock7A lot of times if the book ends without any sort of hopefulness it just leaves me feeling like it was a worthless read. I don’t so much mind sad books, but the thing is, even sad things aren’t completely sad! (Romans 8:28, anyone? :)) So a book that talks about someone who is happy, and then is sad, and then is sad some more and it ends is not the type of book I like. It doesn’t have to end happily ever after where they get their castle and prince and chocolate and all that. Sad books are fine if they end with hope that troubles can be more than just trouble.

Does that make sense? XD I can sort of see the point of a super sad book where the author makes you really feel for the character. I guess that doesn’t really ruin a book for me. But it it ends with a half-resolution, I don’t like that. Or if they find the wrong answer to all their problems and I can sort of see that it isn’t really an answer.

Does that make any sense? I’m not sure, but ah well. Megan brains don’t unravel well.

If you could choose one thing to instantly be able to do, what would you pick?

quoteblock11.jpg

Right now I just sort of want to waste that gift and spend it on being able to instantly learn guitar. I’ve decided I want to be able to play the guitar, but the learning how process takes a while and that’s not always the most exciting thing… but if I truly did get to pick something I’d think over it harder.

Do you like the idea of aliens actually existing?

quoteblock8Nope.

What impression do you want to leave on people who meet you?

quoteblock9
Lyrics from “Hope is the Anthem”

Well, I sort of want to leave an impression of cheerful, funny, vivacious (thanks for that term, Amie!), and so on, so that I seem like a wonderful person. But if I could choose I would pick to leave a good impression not on myself, but God. That when I meet new people they would see Christ, not a wonderful Christian.

That’s it, folks! I hope you enjoyed my answers and the quotes. All the photos in the quotes are from Unsplash. (Unsplash is great, but it takes me forever to decide on photos because there are SO MANY! Who else has this problem? :P)

  1. Ahh, I loved getting to know you a little better, Megan! 🙂 And those were some very nice and positive quotes! I understand you on sad books, I prefer sad books that can bring in hope later on. I often question sad books that just remain focusing on the negatives ‘after someone reads this, are they gonna put the book down feeling ecstatic and joyful or will they leave it feeling depressed?’ But on the other hand, I don’t mind sad stories that can teach the reader an important lesson.
Oh yeah, guitar *sighs*. I feel you. I think I would probably give the exact same answer to that question. It is difficult…but everything takes time I guess and patience is a virtue XD. Are you learning guitar or considering it? I’m 100% certain you’d be great at it!!!!! And ooh, that dream sounds…AMAZING! 🙂

    1. Yay!! I’m glad you did. 😀 Thanks, I like them too!
Yes, exactly! Exactly! Quite so. XD
*sighs* I’m considering it. We don’t exactly have a guitar yet, so that’s a bit of an issue… heh. But hopefully soon! Thanks Sarah!! 😀

    *Sheepishly raises hand* XD

I loved the quotes you added in throughout your post! They’re definitely a nice touch 😉 I mean, ALL OF THEM ARE SO SO AWESOME! — but, I’d have to pick “May all your weeds be wildflowers” as my favorite quote, because it sounds like it would be said by one of those ridiculously humorous little book characters. XD And those are my favorite types of characters ❤ XD
