Black & White Bovine

Hello everyone! I hope you’re having a good Tuesday.

As I was typing the title I realized that our bovine are naturally black and white, but the cows I’ll be showing you today are actually some cows that just moved to our farm and are not black and white, although the pictures are.

The lighting wasn’t the best, so I decided to (mostly) fix that problem by making the pictures black and white.

I named this cow Lecrae.

The smaller cows were all clustered in a group.

bovine4

I think my brother named this one Einstein, but I’m not sure.

bovine5

This cow has a heart on its forehead! 🙂

bovine7

Poor Lecrae got photobombed by the wire fence.

bovine11

Random barbed wire with cow blobs in the background.

bovine3

This is the huge burly bull we named Ferdinand.

bovine9

Our Holsteins are bigger than him I think, but compared to the other cows he looks massive! He’s so chunky.

Here Lecrae (at least I think it’s Lecrae. It might be Gwain) is licking the grazing Ferdinand.

bovine8

And finally the prettiest of them all: Rainbow. She looks almost like a deer!

She’s trying to peer over Ferdinand’s untidy mop of hair.

That’s the end of the black and white pictures, but I do have a few colored pictures that I took with Allison’s dSLR (and are thus much better quality).

He’s sticking his tongue out a bit in this next one.

I’m not sure if the names on their tags is what they are actually named. If that is the case then this one is Vesper. And Ferdinand is technically Nutmeg.

Eve looks kind of sad and solemn.

Rainbow!

And last but not least, Lecrae. 🙂

These cows aren’t actually ours. Their owner is just renting a pasture from us for her herd. But they are so cute! 😀

which cow was your favorite?

do you think these cows are cuter than donkeys?

P.S. I’m going to do Best of 2017 this year (see last year’s results here), and was wondering what categories you guys liked from last year and if you have any ideas for new categories. Tell me in the comments!

      1. Oh, ok! I assumed it was a he. 😀
I like TobyMac, dc Talk, and a few other rappers, but not a whole lot. My favorite type of music is CCM, and TobyMac and dc Talk also fall under that category. 🙂

    1. Thanks Buttercup! And yes. XD Although it’s actually not a bull, it’s a girl. We just decided to name her Lecrae because my cousin used to think my friend MacRae’s name was Lecrae and because we thought she looked kinda rapper-like because she has a chain around her neck for some reason. XD

  1. Great pictures I like Rainbow and the one with the heart shape on her forehead. Do you have donkeys – I would love a small holding and to have donkeys and runner ducks and chickens – just a dream at the moment! But one day!!! Oh and a parrot sanctuary! Keep taking the photos sunsets/sunrises would be my favourite category. X❤️

  2. So cute!!! 😀 I loved them all! Hmmm, I think donkeys are cuter, especially mini ones, what do you think? 😉 But the cows are still cute! 😉

      1. Sounds like a good way to go! Our property isn’t big enough to happily have cows (we COULD). Are they for dairy or meat? I’m mostly familiar with dairy cows by name.
