DIY Pallet Christmas Tree

My mom’s birthday was recently, and we decided to make her a pallet Christmas tree.

We have tons of pallets on our farm, so we just went back to the barn, chose a pallet, and set to work. We used another straight beam to trace a triangle shape onto the pallet, and then the boys used a Sawzall to cut along the lines. Some of the boards on the pallet were loose, so we tried to nail them in better. The nails kept bending, unfortunately, so we decided to use screws instead.

Finally, we painted it! My brother attached the lights today. I really like how it turned out.

It was actually pretty easy to do. The hardest part was sawing the pallet. If we do it again, we’d probably use a Skil Saw instead.

have you ever made anything out of a pallet?

    1. No, it was just one. We have various sizes of pallets on our farm, so this one might have been slightly bigger than most. We cut off the nails because we bent them and then could pull them back out. Plus, the heat from cutting it off melted it a bit so it stayed in better.
Yep, a spare can of John Deer paint. 😉

  1. So cool! I told my brother about this because he has a hobby/business of making art out of pallets! He said he’s seen it before, and I thought “But I want you to make one!” and then I said “It’s so cool, it would make a good Christmas present for me.” LOL! But, he said he was out of pallets. 😦 *sigh* I wish I lived near you so we could use some of your pallets, that is if you were to let us, LOL! 😉

Do you have guinea pig? 😉
