Vacation, Days 1-4

Hello! I’m typing this on our iPad, and maybe when we get to a campsite with wi-fi I can post this. Anyway, here’s how our vacation has been like.

Day 1
We get up at 6:40 and finish packing all those little odds and ends. Then at 8:30 our friends who are coming to Niagara Falls with us arrive, and we start off. From then on to about 11:30 everything goes fine, until our car stops working. We leave our car at a place to be fixed while our friends take one load of us to Pizza Hut in their car, then come back to get the next load. We ate lunch, then passed a bit of the time looking at stuff from the dollar store. ( So fun, right? :P)
Then we headed back to the car place. I forget what we did there, I think we mostly just sat around and looked at the colors of cars. Oh, and I got really bad tasting cold coffee.
After a three hour set back we headed off. We ate supper after a few hours of driving, then drove to the campground. Seeing as we got there at 10:00 PM, we just went to bed.

Day 2
We woke up about 8:00 and had breakfast. Then we went to the activity place with our friends. That place had so many things; basketball course, a volleyball net, a mini golf course, giant tic-tac-toe… We played mini golf, and then it was time to go to Niagara Falls. Our campsite was close to the Falls so it took about fifteen minutes to get there.
We got our tickets and headed down to the dock where The Maid of the Mist was docked. We all got splendiferous blue plastic ponchos to put on. The ride was awesome! I had so. Much. Fun. We got drenched by the mist and got to go really close to the falls. If you go to Niagara, I highly suggest you go on the boat- it’s amazing!
After that we drove over the border into Ontario. The girls ate lunch at a Paris Crepe restaurant and the boys went to a BBQ restaurant. I had a savory crepe for lunch which was pretty good. I also recognized a few French words in the menu! ๐Ÿ˜€
After that we looked at the falls from the Canadian side and bought souvenirs. Then we headed back to the campground where we swam for a little while. (They had a normal pool, a lazy river, and you could swim in part of the lake! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ) After that we did tether ball, mini golf, corn hole (which I’m horrid at)… And so on. Then we ate supper. After supper we rented two canoes. My brothers and their friend were in one, and my sister, Dad, and I were in the other. We paddled around, raced the boys (we won ๐Ÿ™‚ ), and Allison and Dad swapped with our friends Dad and Carmen. Canoeing was so fun! After that we did some more random stuff, but this is probably getting boring so….

Day 3
We said goodbye to our friends, then drove over to the Erie Canal where we took a tour and traveled through a few locks. That wasn’t terribly interesting, but it was good. Then we drove for a little bit and stopped by Lake Ontario. We wadded around for a few minutes, gathered some rocks, and headed back to the car. Then we drove through PA and into Ohio where we stopped at a campground. We got there at around 7:00 PM. After that, we went swimming in Lake Erie until bed time.

Day 4
We started out pretty late, maybe nine or ten o’ clock? Anyway, we drove for a little while, and then got into Michigan. Dad wanted to talk with a farmer so we came to a farm. We stayed there about an hour. Well, I was in the air conditioned car; I did not feel like getting out to stand in the 100 plus degree weather.
Now we are driving some more… I’m rather hot and sore (someone should make really, really, soft car seats) but I’m surviving. Hehe. Our GPS says we should get to the campsite at 6:43. Yawn. Only an hour and eleven minutes left!

So yeah, that’s how our vacation is going so far! It’s been pretty fun. ๐Ÿ™‚ We’ll probably go swimming in Lake Huron tonight, and tomorrow we are going to Mackinac Island. (OW! I’m sore)
Goodbye!
