BIBPC Interviews

Hello guys!
I know, you probably thought you wouldn’t see a BIBPC post from me until August, but in a survey I did about BIBPC, I got a suggestion to do interviews with people who did BIBPC. I chose some people to do them, gave them the questions, and then they sent their answers back. Here they are.

Hayley’s Interview:

  •  How’d you find out about BIBPC?

Well… I follow your blog so I just saw the post in my feed, I read it and I entered into the contest :).

  • Do you enjoy doing it?

YES! It’s so much fun to go outside and take pictures that go with the category… It’s kind of like a treasure hunt xD.

  •  When did you start getting into photography?

I enjoyed photography for several years, but I didn’t get supper into it until I moved to New England. Now I take pictures almost everyday!

  •  Did BIBPC help your photography skills any, or was it mostly just fun?

BIBPC has helped me in the sense that it’s made me look at things differently. And it’s also helped me get motivated to get outside with my camera every day!

  •  What are some photography tips you have learned?

On thing that I have learned is that you can’t be afraid to get down on the ground to get a good shot. And you also can’t be afraid to look foolish. I believe that good photographer has to sacrifice looking foolish or getting some dirty on their clothes to get the right angle ;).

  •  What is your favorite thing about BIBPC?

My favorite thing is probably getting to see everybody else’s perspective on the category you give us… I also love the fact that I get to share my photography with others. And it motivates me to take more pictures, which is always a good thing.

  •  Name a category you think would be fun to do.

I think a category like “the person behind the camera” would be really fun. And then the photographers could take a picture of anything that inspires them, or anything they enjoy or anything that describes their personality… I think that would be a really cool way for the participants to be creative.

  •  Any other thoughts on BIBPC?

Um… ITS AWESOME! And if you didn’t sign up, you’re at a loss ;).

K.A.’s Interview:

  • How’d you find out about BIBPC?

From you! 😛 On your blog!!! It’s an amazing opportunity!!

  • Do you enjoy doing it?

DUUUUH! XD Just kidding! 😛 Yes, I LOVE doing it!!!

  • When did you start getting into photography?

Ummm….when I got my camera..? XD 😛 I got REALLY into close-ups and weird angles and things when I saw Allison’s pics, and yours. It made me want to be that good! 🙂

  • Did BIBPC help your photography skills any, or was it mostly just fun?

Both! It challenges me to take neat pics, and have LOTS of fun too! 🙂

  • What are some photography tips you have learned?

From BIBPC? Or just ones I’ve learned…? Ummm…. If you can get a close-up that’s really clear, it makes it much better than blurry ones.( Obviously) if there’s not junk in the pic it’s look better. Weird angles and neat angles make the pictures look neat. One personal thing I love, is trying to get pictures of my reflection in things!! Like a horse eye, or a guitar! I love doing that! 😉

  • What is your favorite thing about BIBPC?

Everything! I love the competition…and having great teammates. It’s a lot of fun to have a reason to go outside and take pics…and I like to see if I can get a better picture than others. (I don’t mean that in a rude way! 😉 )

  • Name a category you think would be fun to do.

Ummm….random would be fun! 😛 To just do ANYTHING! 😮 🙂 From a notebook binder to a four-wheeler tire!!! 😮 😀 😛

  • Any other thoughts on BIBPC?

I think it’s great for new photographers, and experienced ones! And I thin that BIBPC is the P-E-R-F-E-C-T name for it! I don’t think you should change it at ALL! It fits perfect, AND it’s easy to remember, and that’s VERY important! 😉 I want to THANK the amazing host (I wonder who she is. XD ), for coming up with this, and encouraging other bloggers/photographers to get more experience!!! 😀

Thank you so much for having me, Megan!!! I REALLY appreciate it!!! 😀 And I mean REALLY appreciate it! 🙂 I love your blog and wish mine was more like it, and not so much ‘animal’ish. :/ I’m SOOOOOO grateful that I found your blog! I probably would have stopped blogging if I hadn’t of found Simply Ava’s blog, and found yours FROM that! I was to the point where I WAS going to stop blogging most likely, cause no one commented on my blog at all for 8 months. Sooo…thanks, a LOT. I appreciate the opportunity (I’m using that word a lot, aren’t I?! 😛 ) to have an interview too! ~K.A~ Oh, and sorry If I got a little carried away there! 😛

Anonymous A’s Interview:

  • How’d you find out about BIBPC?

Uh… I was reading your blog. XD

  • Do you enjoy doing it?

Yes! I loved it!

  • When did you start getting into photography?

Oh.. a few years back. I was realizing that dolls were fun subjects to photograph!

  • Did BIBPC help your photography skills any, or was it mostly just fun?

Hmm. Mainly just fun and challenging!

  • What are some photography tips you have learned?

Well… when you’re taking pictures of snow, make your shutter speed faster to show snowflakes. And bring a towel.

  • What is your favorite thing about BIBPC?

The teams, honestly. 🙂 I love the competition…

  • Name a category you think would be fun to do.

Fantasy! Any other thoughts on BIBPC? Will you do fantasy? Can I be interviewed AGAIN? JK. 🙂

Katie T’s Interview

  • How’d you find out about BIBPC?

I think I just kind of saw other people doing it and I was like “Whaa??!! What is this that I must do?!” Also, from reading A Barefoot Gal I learned more about it.

  • Do you enjoy BIBPC?

I think it’s a lot of fun. Especially since I use mostly pictures that I’ve already taken so I get to look through all of the pictures I’ve taken.

  • When did you start getting into photography?

I got into photography probably about mid last year ish? Then I took a photography class in Florida virtual school and while I don’t love it as much as I used to, I still appreciate it and consider it a great hobby.

  • Did BIBPC help your photography skills any, or was it mostly just fun?

I think BIBPC was mostly just fun for me. I already learned a lot because I took two classes about it and not that that means I am a professional, not even close, I just think that BIBPC is more of a pleasant exercise.

  • What are some photography tips you have learned?

I can’t think of any tips that anyone taught me off the top of my head, but one that I learned personally is to take a LOT of pictures. Take five of the same kinds and then take a hundred different ones. You’re bound to find one you like. Also, try different angles and lighting and things like that. Variables in your photography can make your chances of getting a good one so much better.

  • What is your favorite thing about BIBPC?

I love that BIBPC is a team thing and not ALL versus. I get so happy when I post a BIBPC photo and I say something like “We can do it team Kestrel!” and people comment back like “Kestrel can do it! Let’s win it!” and stuff like that. We can all support each other. I also love that you can go see everyone’s pictures on their blogs and it creates a sort of loose family.

  • Name a category that you think would be fun to do.

Well, I took a picture recently that I am extremely happy with and I feel like it could fall under categories like water, foreground, and probably maybe even close-ups.
I am just so happy to finally be doing BIBPC and I am on such an epic team. Hey Megan, could I guest host next time?😛

Loren’s Interview:

  • How’d you find out about BIBPC?

I read about it on Megan’s blog, which I’ve been following for a long time.

  • Do you enjoy BIBPC?

Of course! Cheering for my team was fun, taking the pictures was fun — the whole thing was really enjoyable.

  • When did you start getting into photography?

My love for photography began in 2014, when I started my blog, Happy House of AG. Before that, I knew next to nothing about photography.

  • Did BIBPC help your photography skills any, or was it mostly just fun?

It did help my photography skills — mainly taking action shots and closeups. I don’t normally take pictures like that, but BIBPC helped stretch me out of my comfort zone (in a good way).

  • What are some photography tips you have learned?

Err . . . if you’re taking pictures of people, try to sneak up on them. It not only helps you with your spy training, but the people will look more natural then if you said, “I’m going to take your picture now!”

  • What is your favorite thing about BIBPC?

I love learning the new category and then brainstorming about what to photograph.

  • Name some categories that you think would be fun to do.

I think “seasonal” or “patterns” would be neat!

  • Anything else?

Well, I want to thank Megan for hosting BIBPC — it must have been a lot of work, coming up with all those categories.

Thank you guys so much for doing the interviews, and thanks for the awesome feed back. 😛

Bye now! 😀

Oh! Do you not know about secret notes either? 😮 😛 Just highlight the space underneath my sign-off! 😀
OH! Thank you SO much for saying that, Heather! I was going to do that, but then some of the photos were entered by people I knew via email and had pictures of people they know or I know, so I wasn’t sure if they’d want me to put them online. 😉 I just forgot to change the title!

  2. Interesting answers, people ;). Thanks for interviewing me, Megan, it was fun answering your questions :p. But the editor in me saw a lot of mistakes I made in my answers xD.
