First Decorated Cake Ever

Hello guys, how are you doing this evening?

That’s great. Ahem! I made a cake today! But… it was out of a box.

My first box cake, actually. Well, it wasn’t from scratch, but I wanted to make it quick so I could spend more time decorating it. 🙂 I found this really cool tutorial on how to decorate it easily HERE. I suggest you check it out!  I used THIS photo to trace over. 🙂

Here it is! I edited it and added the eye. It appears that I forgot to take a picture AFTER I put on the eye… xD

The bluebird is pretty simple. 🙂 Just four different colors: blue, red, yellow, and gray! I ended up using a black edible marker to outline the beak and a few other things, but of course that was after I had taken the pictures. Here are a few close-ups.

I’m afraid I hardly had enough of the back ground icing (a very light green) to cover the whole cake, so it looks a tiny bit like it just has the crumb coat and the edges don’t have much icing.

Well, I guess it’s okay for a beginner cake! 🙂 It was pretty fun.
