Mint Brownies

Hey everyone!

In celebration of spring, I will do a recipe post. And what does that have to do with spring, do you ask? Uh… nothing really. Hehe. ๐Ÿ˜›

mintbrownies

I got the recipe from a cookbook that we use pretty often. You can buy it HERE. ๐Ÿ˜€ I changed the wording a bit (butter instead of margarine), but it’s basically the same recipe.

Mint Brownies

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup of butter
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups of Hershey’s chocolate syrup (it doesn’t just have to be Hershey’s)
  • 1 cup and 1ย tbsp.ย of flour
  • 1/2 cup of chopped nuts

Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees. Cream the butter and sugar together. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well. Next blend in the chocolate syrup. Add the flour and nuts and mix well. Pour in a greased 11×15 pan. Bake at 350 degrees (Fahrenheit)ย for 20 – 25 minutes.ย Cool.

Frosting ingredients:

  • ย 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 tbsp. milk
  • 1/2 tsp peppermint flavoring
  • 2 or 3 drops of green food coloring

Beat together until smooth and creamy. Spread over completely cooled brownies. Place in refrigerator or freezer to chill.

Chocolate frosting ingredients:

  • 1 cup of chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup of butter

Melt together. Spread over chilled green frosting. Store in refrigerator. Cut in bars.

Yum! These are quite good. ๐Ÿ˜€ My brother is actually mixing up the frosting as I type. ๐Ÿ˜›

Today isn’t very warm, even if it is the first technical day of spring. It’s 40 degrees! Brr…

Thanks for reading!

    1. Yes! My brother says it’s his ‘specialty.’ ๐Ÿ˜› We have our own desserts that we make most often, mine is plain ol’ brownies, my other brother’s is chocolate chip cookies, and my older sister’s is chocolate pudding. ๐Ÿ™‚
Yeah! Thanks! I do them on almost all of my posts. ๐Ÿ˜›
